PricewaterhouseCoopers forecast double digit growth for digital and mobile spend

Within the next five years, nearly half of the total industry growth is expected to be generated through online and wireless technologies. Fortunately, the audience for entertainment and media will also grow. Broadband households will almost double from 300 million to 540 million subscribers by 2011 and mobile users will reach a whopping 3.4 billion.

Mobile Internet ad spend to hit $2 bn/year mark soon

Mobile internet advertising expenditure will rise significantly with revenues expected to hit $2 billion per-year levels by 2014, riding on growing consumer adoption and rising brand engagement with mobile services, a report said.

According to the report by UK-based Juniper Research, many markets where fixed Internet access is limited, cellular phones have already become the dominant means of accessing the internet.

iPhone users ‘happier to pay online’

Apple iPhone owners more willing to pay for content online than others, finds survey – but news a sticking point.

Consumers with an iPhone show more willingness to pay for digital content than the wider online population, according to new research published today, although the chances of getting people to pay for newspaper on the web are slim.
